I took this photo when I spent the summer in Hungary a few years ago. This man was my neighbor who spoke no English, and sang Hungarian children's songs to me and my friends.
I love this photo. Even though I've never met the man in the picture, I can tell you captured his character. He's old, but he is also young and playful at the same time, as he's seen here "playing" with the snails. The perspective is also eye-catching; I love the huge hand in the foreground with only the man's eyes peering from behind. The composition is really interesting, and it seems like it's even following the rule of thirds. Awesome shot!
I go to the University of Delaware where I'm studying Visual Communications and Interactive Media. I'm also a member of the Delaware Women's Varsity Rowing team.
